Oak Windows & Doors Project on Exeter Self Build
Over the last 8 weeks one of our team has been working on this new self build property located in Exeter. After contacting Taylor’s Joinery with a specific Oak vision in mind, we worked closely with the owner to ensure that we created a traditional yet stylish finish as requested. One of our joiners worked on this project over an 8 week period during which range of bespoke windows and doors were created and installed. Every different space was taken into consideration and optimised, and we crafted unique fittings with attention to detail, ensuring the windows and doors worked seamlessly with the build.
Oak is a great choice of material – not only does it create the classic timeless image, it also offers great durability, which will be beneficial in the harsh weather conditions and elements that Britain often faces. In addition to this to protect Oak from any additional damage the wood was finished with a clear micro porous UV proof oil. Oak is notorious for greying in the sun, therefore a coating of this oil is necessary to protect this from happening. This porous UV oil also has great properties to help protect the wood from damage that might be caused by insects or fungus.
It has been a great project to work on and we are pleased to have assisted the owner in creating the look he was envisioning.
